Gabriela Castillo-Miranda (she/her) is an Afro-Caribbean American Latina writer and performer currently based in Chicago. She was born in Havana, Cuba,  and has African, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese ancestry. In 1998, Gabriela and her parents resettled in Louisville, KY as humanitarian refugees after immigrating to the United States. Gabriela earned an MFA in Acting from the University of South Carolina's Professional Actors Training Program, a BA in Music from Northern Kentucky University, and is an alumna of Second City Conservatory and an SNL Scholarship recipient.
Gabriela wrote, co-produced, and performed the solo show Lady Alhambra for the 2018 MFA Solo Show Series at the Center for Performance Experiment (Columbia, SC). She is now adapting it as a full-length musical play.
